Indiana Should Move to Suspend High Stakes Testing |
19 June 2020
Indiana should move to suspend high stakes testing for the 2020-2021 school year. Even under the best circumstances these tests provide little useful information and are an undue stress on students, parents, and educators. Given the current circumstances and uncertainty of how the school year will proceed, high stakes testing should not be the focal point of the educational process. Suspension of this testing could also potentially save millions of taxpayer dollars. The state of Georgia has already moved to reduce testing this year.
